કચ્છ ઘાસચારા ફળઝાડ અને જંગલ વિકાસ ટ્રસ્ટ on 28th March, 1989 at village Kothara of Abdasa Block of Kutch District of Gujarat.
It was seen that there is a gradual and consistent destruction of trees has been going on and as a result the vegetative cover was decreasing in a very rapid rate. This was further followed by an adverse effect on environment, which was shown by insufficient rainfall, frequent famines have been a general phenomenon in Kutch, which was at a time witness of a prosperous history, which was famous for greenery and prosperity. Another side of the look was also of great importance i.e. it was realized that because of rapid destruction of forest a nature-based economy was being imbalance, which was negating people to fetch livelihood from nature leaving them more vulnerable.
